A “one-room garandou studio” residence was designed utilizing a structure characterized by pillars and large beams spanning the shape of a rice paddy in the center of the 157.5 m2 one-floor top floor of a five-story RC building with mixed-use apartments. The interior is characterized by materials, scale, and details that are as strong as the existing structure with its strong composition and materiality.
